Everyone knows that all’s fair in love and war. But these two will learn that sabotage is a dish best served naked.

A sexy, compulsively readable romantic comedy that dives headlong into the thrill and doubt of modern love, Dating You/Hating You by New York Times bestselling author Christina Lauren is the story of what two high-powered agents will—and won’t—do to get everything they ever wanted.

Despite the odds against them from an embarrassing meet-awkward at a mutual friend’s Halloween party, Carter and Evie immediately hit it off. Even the realization that they’re both high-powered agents at competing firms in Hollywood isn’t enough to squash the fire.

But when their two agencies merge—causing the pair to vie for the same position—all bets are off. What could have been a beautiful, blossoming romance turns into an all-out war of sabotage. Carter and Evie are both thirtysomething professionals—so why can’t they act like it?

Can Carter stop trying to please everyone and see how their mutual boss is really playing the game? Can Evie put aside her competitive nature long enough to figure out what she really wants in life? Can their actor clients just be something close to human? Whether these two Hollywood love/hatebirds get the storybook Hollywood ending, or just a dramedy of epic proportions, you get to enjoy Christina Lauren’s heartfelt, hilarious story of romance in the modern world.

Definitely not my favorite Christina Lauren. I actually really liked both characters, and I actually laughed out loud at a few of the antics, but it seemed like the authors had to fill the book with way too much detail about the hollywood industry to fill up the book. There was no real personal growth on the character's part, and I found myself pushing to get through the book. I loved BB, BS, and BP, and was a bit disappointed with this one.

Dating You / Hating You Christina Lauren 9781501165818 Books Reviews

I'm a fan of these authors and have enjoyed a lot of their work. This time was a bit of a chore and at times I almost gave up. Actually I came really close to a DNF. I'd been wanting to read it since it came out so I was determined to finish. This one had a really different feel to it from others of theirs and I didn't really enjoy it. Maybe because there's just nothing that compelling about two flirting co-workers vying for the same job? I don't know, but The Hating Game by Sally Thorne did it much better I thought, and with way more humor. Of course, that's just my opinion.

In the later part of the book, the story got a lot better. The will we or won't we pull between the two main characters gets resolved and lots of other major things get done as well. I quite enjoyed this part of the book. One of the best parts involved a curious dog and something he ate. I laughed out loud in the middle of the night during that scene. It's just too bad it took so long to get to the good parts.

The books written by this pair since this book have all been wonderful, so for me this was just an anomaly which I guess is bound to happen when you read so many by the same authors. I do highly recommend anything else by these authors, I just can't recommend this one.
Dating You/Hating You is a fast-paced, romantic, entertaining book that will keep you from doing anything else until you get to the ending....and the ending is worth all the lost sleep and undone chores! Evie and Carter have just met and are on the verge of becoming boyfriend/girlfriend, when a work situation finds them at odds with each other as they find themselves in competition for their jobs. The sexual sparks between them, the work tension which threatens any thought of a relationship, lead them both to hijinks and pranks that can as easily bring them together as it could tear them apart. The dialogue is so fun and witty, the characters in this book are quirky and endearing. Set in Hollywood, the behind the scenes look in to the lives of two high-powered agents and their demanding clients adds another layer of interest to this already great story.
Definitely not my favorite Christina Lauren book. I was disappointed in the last Beautiful book and felt the same with this one. It just fell flat for some reason. Doesn't mean I won't continue to support the authors and read every book they release!
When Carter and Evie meet at a Halloween party, they have the kind of chemistry that makes you move mountains to be with each other. Unfortunately for these two, fate steps in and throws a wrench in their plans. Finding out they are basically competing for the job they love, this turns them from a possibility into enemies before they know what hits them.
Christina Lauren's writing is on point, the story flows, the characters come alive, and you can cut the tension with a knife. Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and these writers do it amazing justice. Dating You/Hating You has a bit of a different feel than some of their other books, it's more drawn out, more storyline and less sexy action. Don't let that deter you though, there is still plenty of steam, it's just more a slow-burn in my eyes. Absolutely loved Carter and Evie's story, I hope we get to see them again sometime!
I guess, based on the blurb, I expected this book to be funnier. Definitely had some humor in it during the pranking phrase but wasn’t really what I would call a comedy. The romance was okay if a bit eh and the main characters were pretty good as well.

So what made this book earn four stars?

The absolute truth it portrayed.
That just because you’re female you should set up parties and crap like that even if it’s not your job.
That naturally you should be the one performing secretarial tasks even when you’ve fought to gain a position far removed from that job.
That you get called nicknames like sport, kiddo, hun, and anything else that is both astonishingly condescending and infantile.
That you can work harder, longer, and be better at than your colleagues and still not be given the same respect you should get.
That any mistake, emotion, or even remotely less than perfect work is somehow that much worse than your male counterparts.

I gave this book four stars because there, in black and white, they were able to capture the frustration of dealing with misogyny in the workplace and it was just all so true to life. From the line they carefully thread so it’s just this side of legal to the internal rage you must hide because there’s nothing you can do unless you want to be unemployed.

So yeah, four stars for showing what it’s really like.
I loved loved loved the Beautiful and Wild series. This book just isn't at the same level. It was a 'very nice' romance but I wished for more zing between them. If this were a movie in the theatres I would say wait until it releases on DVD. $7.99 for is expensive.
Definitely not my favorite Christina Lauren. I actually really liked both characters, and I actually laughed out loud at a few of the antics, but it seemed like the authors had to fill the book with way too much detail about the hollywood industry to fill up the book.
