After a modeling shoot, Diva is called in to aid some researchers in an old mine. After the mine collapses, she is trapped deep underground. Psystar goes to her aid, along with the Gahranii scientists and a powerful 'Builder' super from out East. The opposing Gahranii pirates appear in a bid to capture the Selestor, causing potentially fatal wounds to Psystar and a scientist. Borgz, still bitter from his death at the hands of the Hordemaker, breaks the villain out of prison along with several other powerful criminals. Atomizer, an ultra-powerful new super works with the city to help its landfill issues, and is taken over by one of the villains as they seek out their own revenge against their former boss. The Goth mutants become involved with Borgz as he captures several heroes, Lance's mother rushes to the city in an emergency, and an older hero is murdered. A skyscraper is split in half - can the heroes stop an evil super group as they execute a plan for revenge?

Ditzy Diva receives a distress call from people trapped in a mine. She goes to rescue them, but the mine collapses pinning her. Duane, a “builder” super, arrives on scene and clears the cave-in freeing Diva. True to form, Diva is more excited that Duane repaired her clothes.Borgz is developing into an interesting villain. He breaks a bunch of villains out of jail (technically they are being transferred to another location) including Arissa the evil telepath, and Hordemaker, the guy who was responsible for killing him and his friend Aimee. He is also running an interesting business with Lady Celeste - who has made it clear that she's not interested.
The one-armed hero Gatecrasher makes a welcome reappearance and he is accompanied by his superdogs. (I'm surprised that one of them wasn't named Crypto.) A massive fight ensues.
I really enjoyed this book and recommend it for a fun, light read. I've already bought the next two "shorts" in the series, although it seems that they are more stand alone short stories and do not further the continuing plot.

HERO Paragon HERO Volume 6 Kevin Gerald Rau 9781475077650 Books Reviews
I am a very picky person when it comes to books and series. I only want to read series. If I find a book I like then I prefer to read more since I know the backstory and the characters. These characters are well developed. The story flows well. These books can stand alone but I recommend reading the beginning book in the series. If it hooks you then you will want to read more. I recently retired from the Air Force and started teaching high school. I started reading the series during a winter break and have read each of them over the break and winter snow days off of school. I've completed the series and am awaiting more. If you like stories of heroes geared toward older readers, then this is for you.
Great author and series!
Loved it as I loved the other books in this series. the characters are totally awesome.
I've been a longtime reader of superhero comics and stories, and I have to say I'm enjoying this series. It could be more fully developed, and benefit from some better editing (including fixing notable grammar mistakes like the continued use of "and I" when "and me" is actually appropriate), but you have to read things where they are. This is not meant to be Shakespeare, not even James Joyce, not even Stephen King. It's a fun read, self published (apparently), and if you like superheroes you'll probably enjoy it. I have to say I've liked the creative invention of abilities, the classification system, and even the superhero naming. The stories are definitely entertaining and fun, too. If they develop to another level, where they're also more realistic in terms of character development, interaction, and human motivation, and fully developed, then I'd even give them a 5-Star rating rather than the 4-Star I'm giving now.
Not bad, enough to keep me going, glad to see the editing is steadily improving. Borgz has some interesting possibilities and a ....what is he? good/bad? hmmm....
The usual story for this series. I am amazed that "Diva" is considered a viable character. Its obvious she has some issues and intelligence is not her strongpoint. If she was a blonde it would make for a running joke.
This book (and the series) were a pleasant surprise when I started them, but it quickly become very formulaic in nature. The love triangles feel more than forced, and the characters seems to be grinding through the same scenarios over and over again. The author needs to pull back and realize that if someone is reading book 6 of a series, you don't need to rehash every little detail that was firmly established in books 1 through 5.
